We are barely getting started today and we have already had great visitation.  This afternoon we will have our annual visit from Professor Wickersham and his "German Churches in Missouri" class from Maryville University.  Warren and Gerard will give them the full tour.  I'm looking forward to their visit.

The gift shop is blooming with new goat's milk soap from the Bailey Farm in Marble Hill.  We also have new ribbon scarves--in awesome colors--for the summer from Sara Bohnert.  We have a new/old b

We have a new book in our research library, Immigrant Life in New York City-1825-1863.  Some of the folks in the original "New York Group" who met the other immigrants here in 1839, lived in New York for quite awhile.  They traveled directly to Perry County via a water route--THAT is an interesting Erie Canal story.

We received another fantastic family history book on the Mangels Family.  It was brought here by Janet Gross.  It is beautifully put together with some fantastic photography.  Another amazing new family history (from the NY Group) is the Schlagenhaus book.  Both works are  nice additions to the research library.

Have a wonderful weekend.  I'll be in Cape tomorrow.  We have a researcher coming this weekend to use Zion Roots--welcome Carolyn.  I'll be back at the museum on Tuesday.
Take Care,
Carla Jordan
